We all should pray this prayer from time to time.....

Litany of Humility

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being loved...
From the desire of being extolled ...
From the desire of being honored ...
From the desire of being praised ...
From the desire of being preferred to others...
From the desire of being consulted ...
From the desire of being approved ...Deliver Me, Jesus.

From the fear of being humiliated ...
From the fear of being despised...
From the fear of suffering rebukes ...
From the fear of being calumniated ...
From the fear of being forgotten ...
From the fear of being ridiculed ...
From the fear of being wronged ...
From the fear of being suspected ...Deliver Me, Jesus.

That others may be loved more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may be esteemed more than I ...
That, in the opinion of the world,
others may increase and I may decrease ...
That others may be chosen and I set aside ...
That others may be praised and I unnoticed ...
That others may be preferred to me in everything...
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should…Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

God is so good.

Good is so good. What makes it even better is that He makes Himself available to us in Holy Eucharist. Wow. Think about that, when we receive Jesus at mass, we become one with Him, and He becomes one with us. "I love you Lord, YOU are my strength....and I am one with You." Wow. What are we missing here people?! We are truly receiving Jesus when we attend Mass. It has been proven countless amount of times, yet, we countlessly receive the Body and Blood without reverence in the least bit. IT IS NOT A SYMBOL, JESUS IS REAL! Ghandi himself once said that if he believed what we believed, he would be crawling to receive Eucharist, because of the fact that it is GOD that we are receiving THRU HIS SON! Imagine if Catholics truly believed what our faith is? Imagine if people stopped picking and choosing what they wanted, and lived by the faith in ALL of its teachings? There will be a day, and God only knows, that He will unite the world. God is good, God is so good. God is amazing. God is power. God is love. God is justice. God is peace. God is God. He is the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one goes to the Father except thru Him. He is the light of the world, the salt of the earth. It is proven, that if you live your life in accordance to God's will thru sacred scripture, tradition, and works of service, one will be fulfilled in God's eyes, not his/her own. So, why not live it. What's holding you back?

God, take me where you want me to go.

"He will bring people in and out of our lives at the appropriate times to build up our faithfulness in Him."

Last night, I had the opportunity to hang out with a good friend of mine. He and I have been pretty busy lately, so we hadn't had the chance to sit down and have a moment of sharing in each others' time and thoughts. He was telling me that he went to a conference a few weeks ago, and that something stuck with him ever since: we need more prayer in our lives. More. If you think you are praying enough, pray more! Fully and actively participating in Mass with Holy Eucharist and receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation as frequent as needed, not just when they have the massive Reconciliation times with multiple priests during Advent and Lent.

God is so amazing that He put us two in that moment together so that my friend could share that with me. Wow. God is so perfect in the way He executes His plan. God is willing to use you to do things like the above, but do you listen and say yes? It is so hard, with all the noise in our lives to give ourselves to Him. To help in difficult situations, pray to the Trinity-God, His amazing Son, and the Holy Spirit, pray to Mary, pray to St. Michael, pray to Blessed John Paul II, pray for intercession. And it will make your life much easier to handle because you are implementing a very powerful prayer tool. Once you have the open dialogue with God, it will be easier for you to say "Yes!" and follow Him and His ways. God is good.

Lord, where did you go?

Often times in our lives, we ask for God to help us in the hardest of times, but when our plea for help isn't answered immediately, we become: discouraged, tired, hurt, angry, sad, lonely. We forget that God answers prayer in His time, and in His way. We may not see a tangible response to our cry out to Him, but He may have answered it in a way that He sees fit that we sometimes can't, and maybe will never, understand. Personally, I have asked God for an increase in patience lately, and I believe He answered my prayers by testing my patience even more; not in an effort to make me angry or upset, but to strengthen me to where I can freely give that patience in situations that may want me to pull my hair out! To learn patience the hard way by almost forcing myself to be more patient with others, especially when situations come up that I have no control over. But, I prayed for it, so I got what I asked for, just not in a way of which I was expecting.

We often feel that our prayers go unanswered when we are praying for loved ones that are sick, or even when we are sick ourselves. "It's just not getting better." "This cross is too heavy, I can't do it." "The medicines are not working." "Why God have You forsaken me?!??" (Even Jesus felt like He had unanswered prayers when He was agonizing on the cross! "DAD, where are you?? I need you right now!!!" would be an easier way to picture the loneliness Jesus was feeling.) Truth is, and I believe this wholeheartedly, God is with you and among you. He is with me and among me. Holding us in our darkest times, letting you know that it will be fine, but to just trust in Him, and He will make it ok. Can you hear Him saying that? If you can't, calm your mind down and listen because He is there! He is comforting the ones afflicted with terminal illnesses, telling them that it will be ok. He has a grand plan, we just often have a hard time seeing it.

"He has a grand plan, we just often have a hard time seeing it" basically sums up our faith, or lack of. When we totally and completely trust in God to lead our lives, we walk by faith. We walk in step with His plan and His glory. We don't need anything else on this earth when we trust in Him, because He will provide what we need at the appropriate times. He will bring people in and out of our lives at the appropriate times to build up our faithfulness in Him. Our greatest and most loyal Father is there, waiting for us to return to Him, to tell Him we need Him, but that we are ready and willing to listen and act. It's so easy to demand from God what we want, but will YOU listen and act when He calls you to do something?
